Theme: “Our Divine Next” – Lamentations 3:22-23
Introduction
On this blessed occasion, we give glory to God for twenty years of unwavering grace, mercy, and provision. Covenant Family Chapel was founded on a simple yet profound vision: to mold disciples of Christ. Today, we stand as living testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
Our Beginning: March 20, 2005
The story of Covenant Family Chapel began on March 20, 2005, in the basement of the home of Pastors Neil and Diana Acheampong. With a handful of believers, passionate prayers, and a clear mandate from God, we gathered for the first worship service. It was a small beginning, but we held on to the promise of Zechariah 4:10 – “Do not despise these small beginnings…”
Those early days were characterized by simplicity, intimacy, and a profound sense of purpose. From this humble basement fellowship, God began writing an extraordinary story.
From Fellowship to Family (2005–2010)
By our 5th anniversary, Covenant Family Chapel had grown beyond a local gathering—we had become a family. The church embraced fellowship, discipleship, and outreach as pillars of our ministry. During this time, new ministries were launched to nurture children, youth, and families.
Our heartbeat for missions also grew stronger. We began supporting several mission initiatives in Ghana, the Philippines, Kenya, and across the United States, fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission beyond our walls.
Expanding Our Reach (2010–2015)
This season marked a turning point for outreach and media ministry. On December 1, 2013, Covenant Family Chapel launched its radio ministry on WFMD 930AM in Frederick, Maryland. Currently, WFMD reaches approximately 20,000 homes terrestrially in the Frederick and Hagerstown area monthly, and 25,000 homes monthly via streaming platform. The coverage area includes Frederick–Hagerstown area, Western Maryland, Central Maryland, South Central Pennsylvania, Northern Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, and Potomac Highlands of West Virginia.
On October 4, 2018, we also launched a broadcast on WWLN 1080 and WWNL 103.9FM, covering 3.2 million homes.
What began as a local broadcast evolved into a powerful evangelistic tool. Today—12 years later—this ministry reaches an estimated 3.245 million people across Maryland, Parts of Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the Northern Parts of Ohio, with a strategic focus on Frederick and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This expansion reaffirmed our commitment to preach the Gospel to as many as possible through every available means.
Blessings of Property and Provision
The Lord has been faithful in establishing us physically and spiritually. Over these 20 years, we have acquired properties that enabled ministry growth. The Lord blessed us with a property on 5 East 2nd Street, Frederick, MD – our first property, which has since been sold. The second property that the Lord blessed us with our current property at 10307 Coppermine Road, Woodsboro, MD, was purchased for $1,400,000. To date, we have paid off a significant portion and have only $149,000 remaining. This is a testimony of God’s provision through the faithfulness of His people.
A Global Impact with a Local Heart (2015–2025)
Over the past decade, we have witnessed significant spiritual growth and a profound impact on the community. Our mission work continues in multiple nations, and local outreach programs bring hope to families in need. Our annual conferences, revival services, and discipleship programs have strengthened believers and expanded God’s Kingdom.
Even through challenges—such as the global pandemic—God enabled us to adapt through online ministry and digital platforms, ensuring the Gospel never stopped. Recently, there was a move of God amongst our young adults and youth. We pray that they will come and take over this work soon.
Our Legacy and Future
As we celebrate 20 years of Covenant Family Chapel, we acknowledge that our story is His story—a testimony of grace, perseverance, and the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Every soul saved, every life changed, every prayer answered is a reason to give thanks.
Looking ahead, our vision remains clear:
Closing Declaration
We declare with confidence: “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy” (Psalm 126:3). Today, we honor our past, celebrate our present, and anticipate a future filled with greater works for God’s glory.
To God alone be the glory—great things He has done, and greater things He will do!
